Weddings, gay comminements/weddings, parties, special separate-ticketed events, bussiness/company picnics or parties, WDW sure know's how to rake the money in.
I am having a bit of an issue trying to get Walt Disney World discovers Quinceanera parties to post right in the title.
Every time I post it it goes nuts & looks like this Quinceañera
so for now I'll try it like this
Quinceanera
;-(
================
Girls now can hold their Quinceañera parties at Walt Disney World, with specially-planned packages at prices that start at between $1,800 to $20,000!
Disney event planners, who've had decades of experience packaging weddings, now are turning their princess resources ranging from fairytale linens to Cinderella coach rides toward the traditional coming-of-age celebrations for 15-year-old Hispanic girls, their families and friends.
Among packages:
A Reflection of You – A Quinceañera in the midst of the fireworks displays during "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" at Epcot, starting at $1,800.
Dancing with a Star – A Quinceañera celebration dazzles at a designated Disney hotel or theme park with a multilingual DJ, a variety of menu options, with a starting price of $6,900.
Belle of the Ball –A Quinceañera ball for groups of 100 or more celebrants, starting at $20,000.

Luckily I have 10 years to save up!!!
But then so are most parties since everyone tries to out-do each other.
And you are right some people will spend anything.
I read an article about how a woman & a man (both of whom have jobs), wanted to get married at WDW, both sets of parents took out second mortages on their homes to pay for; a tea party, a private golf party, rehersal dinner, wedding, reception which was held at one of the parks. If I find the link I'll post it here.
The Quinceañera is a young Latina woman's celebration of her fifteenth birthday, which is celebrated in a specific and different way from her other birthdays. The word is also used to refer to the young woman whose 15th birthday is being celebrated (analogous to the word "cumpleañera" for "birthday girl"). The closest equivalents to the Quinceañera in the English-speaking world is the Sweet Sixteen or in more affluent communities, a debutante ball at the age of eighteen.

There is a reason why the traditional celebration can be so expensive...
Check out this online timeline guide for planning a Quinceañera celebration and you will see how these can really rack up a bill similar to a wedding!

Thanks for the info Michael.
But I think we would both be suprised by the number of people who would.
I went to a sweet 16 party a few years and it was quite a show.
But this is effectively a debutante ball, which by my understanding is a very elaborate and expensive endeavor.
Happy Thursday, Elaine!
