When I went out to garden Tuesday,

I found a strange snake in my hay.

Though I tried and I tried,

It's unidentified,

And didn't even call the next day.

I thought it was just a dark wet spot in the hay - I was REALLY concerned that my bale was rotting! The closest I could get to identifying it was "Southern Crown Snake" - I didn't see the head so I'm still not sure. It just didn't match any North American snakes exactly. I'm still puzzled...
