Sweet little angel
Sent from above
Mine to have and to hold
To cherish and to love.
Sent from above
Mine to have and to hold
To cherish and to love.
Not mine forever
But just a little while
I'll have you while I may
And love your dimpled smile.
But just a little while
I'll have you while I may
And love your dimpled smile.
I'll teach you about Jesus
How he would have you to be
So when you come of age
You'll choose eternity.
How he would have you to be
So when you come of age
You'll choose eternity.

Joan, it really is a lullabye, set to a tune that I composed along with the poem while sitting up nights feeding my twin daughters many years ago. It lasts a little longer when sung (unfortunately this site doesn't provide for posting musical creations) but still rather short. Lullabies work best when repeated over and over anyway, so that's just what I did. :-)
Thank you for your encouragement! I am, at your request, now working on another piece. What a wonderful site this is, with so much potential. I will only have a short while to participate in here, while I am recuperating from a few broken bones. Once I return to work, my entries will be few and far between.

What is God
God is Love.
Where is God
Just look above.
Omnipotent
and omnipresent.
In the past,
and in the present.
He lives in you,
he lives in me.
He made the mountains
made the sea.
He's in your heart,
he lives within.
He sent us Jesus,
to forgive our sin.
Immersed in water,
the spirit new.
He loves us all,
especially you.
