First of all, let me say that the reason I haven't listed my 3 good things in over a week hasn't been because the days haven't contained any. Impossible!
No, the reason I've neglected to be publicly glad was that I was too exhausted at the end of the day to actually record what it held.
So today I begin again:
1. A red shafted flicker has been making it's particular music by pounding its beak on the birdfeeder in our outside my door for several days. I've watched him stealthily. Tonight, just around dusk, a female appeared, flashing her tail provocatively.
2. She who loves Willows , a new friend, stopped by to remind me that Friday is Arbor Day and it deserves to be celebrated. Just contemplating how I will do that (A walk in the woods maybe? Or might I even plant a tree?) made me happy in advance.
3. All my blissful tree thoughts led me to the Arbor Day site where I found this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "In the woods we return to reason and faith." They were exactly the words my spirit needed to hear. Don't you love it when that happens?
Now it's your turn. Anyone have a good moment to share, or maybe even three?

Your post reminded me of the best and worst game I used to ~play~ with my kids - especially when we'd spent a lot of time apart that day. It was a great way to find out what was really going on in their little heads. :)
2. Had a nice dinner out with a friend that used to work with me.
3. I didn't have to work today.
Rick S: Congrats on the new comic book!
Wilma: Dance recital outfits are magical. I hope you can post the photos...
(yawn) Zzzzzz.!!..........
Dawn: I love it when that happens!
Christi: Congrats on WALKING through a leafy world, contemplating your next (paid!) writing assignment, and smiling to yourself as you think about your wonderful family.
subroto: Don't give up too easily. That flicker outside my window has been out there patiently announcing his presence for days!
Julie: And now your wonderful "three" have warmed me all over. When you spread and share good news, there is a definite ripple effect.
Thanks, too, for plugging my book. I think I'm going to hire you as my new publicist. Once you've read it, you'll realize that long baths, drinking wine--and especially behaving sinfully--figure prominently in the story. Hope you enjoy it!
This morning, I was about to leave for work, kissed my grandsons goodbye, and blew a kiss to them through the mudroom window. I didn't receive my usual smile and kiss back from Julian, whose little face crumpled into tears. I returned, and asked my little buddy what was wrong. He stammered, "I... don't... want... you to go.... Papa." My heart broke into pieces and I went back inside to cuddle with him for a moment. The joy in this? Being loved so much that someone cries when you leave them. And to end the story, he was just fine after five minutes of hugs and kisses.
The second amazing thing that happened this week was another burst of spring. Overnight, the leaves of the honeysuckle and lilacs opened; the willows greened up, the forsythia began to bloom, and my hyacinth bloomed, just a little. Such a joy to see this wave of green and color arrive in the gray woods!
Last of all, my darling Grandson, Gordie, fell and hit his head inside. Just a typical little boy accident. Jenn (my daughter, his mom), couldn't wake him up. The ambulance came, he was whisked to the ER, but he woke up, and he's just fine. Thank God!!! So, I'm most thankful for my three things this week!
Thanks for the opportunity to stop and be thankful, Patry. ;o)

My wonderful three are
there is a tiny, tiny blue hyacinth just beside the front door, blooming. I must have stuck it in the ground last year after getting a basket of blooming bulbs - and here it is!
My big brother flies up from Texas to Boston tonight, and we having a reunion on Sunday!
And......the first seeds I planted last weekend are already up..............salad makings, here we come...........
Katrina: Oh, that tiny blue hyacinth! Is there anything more wonderful, more rich in color and scent on this green earth? Thank you for planting one here.
p.s. Enjoy your reunion!
And I'm going to drink some hot Indian chai right now.
Gary: You have left a beautiful message. I thank you for it.
