An Unusual Sad Story...

One of my students brought this story to my attention this morning. I try to get them to read by looking for things that are of high interest. I am so thankful that my student actually felt saddened by this story and wanted to journal about it. I thought I would share it with all of you as well.

Thanks for sharing the article. I think this proves why exotic pets should not be kept. I know camels are "domesticated," but they are known for their obstinent and often times unpredictable ways, more so than other domestics like cows and horses. It is a shame that the woman did not know enough to stay away from a large animal in an aroused state; I steered clear of my horses when they were in cycle or arousal as they became easily agitated and uncontrollable.

No matter how much you may love animals, erring on the side of caution is always best!

I had read this earlier this morning. Very sad. I agree with tamara and Genine that extra caution needs to be used around exotic animals.

Oh my God! A friend of mine attended a birthday party last weekend where they host had a camel and children were taking turns riding him!

I agree with Elaine, wild means wild, animals come to you for one reason only food, they will do things to get the food but they still are wild and so sad this lady had to find out the hard way. Love these animals yes---but from a safe distance and know the nature of the animal. Even a common every day cow is dangerous and why do you think they put rings in the noises of bulls, if there not fixed their mean. Woman on their monthly should never go out into the wild with wild animals---woman in BC Canada will tell you that as so many have be attacked by cougars...Common sense rules.
