Let me tell you about a song for you
Sung by a wanderer of far lands
Who wants to offer you a gift
He bows and holds it in his hands
He sings of a love like none other
A love beyond beds and warm embrace
Like a river that runs in a rippling stream
This love makes dreams fall into place
He asks you to pause for just one moment And to hold up your hand and say halt
Do you hear words that laugh and dance?
Words that give reasons to exalt?
Do you read poems of life and love?
Of glancing eyes and happy sigh?
Stories that touch and exhilarate
And tell you how your soul can fly?
If he can teach you how to love...
Oh no not only love one poet
But to love everything that you can touch
And open up your heart to show it.
He wishes your words to flow
Like rays from a rainbow arch
To express a joyful bubbling love
And then reach out and feel its touch

"Words that give reasons to exalt?"
Word choice is excellent and although the rhythm faultered a little toward the ending stanzas, it recouped well!
I can hear the music in my head to this one, to me it's more of a poem-song. Just what I needed today, thank-you.

Surely, this poet wants to inspire and give so much! To help the listener learn of beauty and love in everything. Lovely poem and a great vision.
Blessings.
Hi Genine. I think that you're right about the beat. Thanks for that 10 and liking that line.
Am I being featured. I can't believe it. It's for the first time here on Gather. Thank you very much. You made my day.
Yes it is a poem song sung by a poet who wishes to inspire another poet.
Glad that you liked it, Arlene
Hi Julie. I meant every word that I wrote most sincerely.
Oh you're so right Wilhelmine. It's meant to be about how a poet should or would talk to another poet
Oh Sandra. Those are wonderful words but I'm not such a gentle soul. My life has been hectic but I try and show compassion at all times.
Thank you Sheila I'm glad that you saw the beauty in this poem
Yes you've seen what was meant, as always. To inspire and give. I believe that here is beauty to be found every where if you're willing to see it.
In fact I don't think that you can write poetry if you can't love the subject of the poem be it about someone, a rock, a dog or a tree, etc .
Thanks for your great help in editing this piece.
Oh thank you Iris. You made my day. I'm so glad that you loved it.
Hi Julie I still can't believe that I'm featured. It's never happened before. Thank you.

Thank you Anita. You saw the visual side. That is important and is very rewarding
Those phrases? It's funny that as you write you feel that something feels just right. I love thosephrases too as they say what wasmeant to be said.
