Re-gifting

Well, we have all done it...or at least I have and sometimes I feel a little guilty about it. You get that gift for Christmas that you know someone picked up at the last minute because it has absolutely NOTHING to do with you and then...you find someone that would absolutely love it, so when their birthday rolls around, you wrap it up and re-gift...am I the only one? Is it wrong? I do try to only re-gift if I know the other person will love it...heck, sometimes if it is someone I am close to, I tell them that it is a re-gift. What do you think? Share your re-gifting experiences with me....make me feel human again...LOL

I have never regifted but I don't see a problem with it as long as you keep track of who gave it to you and if they are there when you are giving the other person the gift.

I have not really regifted, but have received regifts a couple of times when family or friends got things that they did not like, but I would.
A few times someone got things that they turned around and gave me when it was not an occasion thing. Just something that I would like that was passed on.

Okay, I re-gifted once and swore I would never do it again. Money got unexpectedly tight and I couldn't afford a gift for a fellow worker. We had drawn names at work and I got her's. I didn't know what to do. I decided on giving her this beautiful perfume bottle from AVON that I had never opened or used. It was a birdcage with a bird on top. Very nice and pretty. She was into nice and pretty. I gave it to her. When she opened it she said "Thanks a lot". Not a happy thanks, it was more like a sarcastic thanks. Later she told someone that she had bought it for me for my birthday. I felt about 2" tall. I knew I had gotten it for my birthday but couldn't remember who gave it to me. I was so embarassed, I swore that was the last re-gift from me, ever.

I re-gift. I feel it's better than me throwing it away.

I never re-gift the gift at any function the person who was gift-giver is at.

I never re gift...but only because the gifts that I would consider regifting are usually so hideous that I'd be too ashamed to bestow them upon anyone else and still hold my head up in public! LMAO
