This weekend the weather finally cooperated by providing warm weather, sun and a light breeze so we decided to take a hike through our village which runs through the woods. There are many trails to choose from and we decided to take the trail that goes over many water runoffs and the most woods.

This is across the street from us, but the trail is around the bend.
The trails start where a road meets the woods and are marked by a post with the word trail carved in it:
This is where we started.

bridge over the runoff.

There are about five different places on this trail that have bridges going over the runoff. I love standing on the bridge looking down and watching the water pass by.

The people who own these houses can sit on their decks and hear the water running.

The view is beautiful.
Some views along the way:

I love moss.

And the woods:

As the sunset is upon us we better head for home.

and feed the ducks.
All this scenery will be so different when the trees have leaves and the summer dries up the runoffs.

Sandra - we are really blessed. We don't live there yet, we just go on the weekends, but when my DH retires, hopefully in two years, we want to live there year round.
Our family has had a summer house in the Poconos for sixty years. We are going on the fourth generation of children having this lovely area as their summer memories.
It is a great area of the country.
thanks for all the pictures along with the article!
Glad you enjoyed it Susan.
I love the Poconos and in fact, plan to be there, outside of Stroudsburg, this coming weekend.
