G Non-News: Is it True? We Can't Post Satire or Parody?

Rumor has it that it is no longer kosher to post satire or parody anymore on Gather. My guess is that the heads at the GIANT dot com company are bowing to pressure from all sides. It's hard to maintain political correctness. Everyone has "feelings," and gawd forbid if someone's feelings are hurt. Some people have no sense of humor. Everyone has an agenda, it seems.

It appears that many people received an Official Communique (or an official-looking communique)from HQ either today or yesterday directing them to cease and desist with the frivolity.

My email box is surprisingly empty. Of course, I don't receive mail from Gather. Obviously, I'm not among the privileged. My Gather mail box is also hollow. Hear that clanking noise? You would think that's two sticks rubbing together, but it's not. My stick man is elsewhere. *blows kisses through the internet*

Personally speaking, I need the laughter. I need the wild thoughts of the most twisted men and women on the planet to make me smile. I look forward to the weird musings of my friends and acquaintances. I feel a special kinship with the odd and disenfranchised.

Anyway, since I missed the memo, could someone send me a copy?
