My mind seems to just do what it wants to sometimes. I was reading posts when it said to me "Can people really get sick drinking water.' Can anyone help answer this question?

Water is less pure now than it has ever been. Most of the time we can drink it without fear, but the treatment stations are having to add so many more additives that it no longer tastes good. I use taste and ordor filters on my facet and also in a Brita pitcher. I like the Brita taste the best.
Storing water in 55 gal drums is scary. Are these metal drums, and what do you use for treatment, Connie?
I would recommend that everyone stay with special labled water jugs with at least a 5 year warrently. No spring water or foreign water if you can help it. I am not an expert on this but some spring water is loaded with minerals, that can cause problems during long storage. Also, I believe that I read where some foreign water, even with high priced lables are not processed like we require for long storage. I don't want to make too many rash statements because my memory is not as good as it use to be.
I also know that most metal containers, and a lot of plastic containers contaimate the water if stored.
The main reason I use store bought plasic containers with certified water is it is easy to buy in boxes that can be replaced if not needed. Also, in a disaster area
opening 1 gallon at a time keeps it easier to use with out contaimation. One person with dirty hands because washing is hard to do, can contaimate every thing they touch. Better safe than sorry. Also, with larger containers, the wind may rupture one of both and leave you without water.
I believe it would be helpful for all of us to get the real scoop on this subject. Anyone want to investigate this and let us all know? I don't like to depend on me anymore, and it is too important to rush through. Thanks for all your comments.
a given! I try to drink 8 to 10 8oz. glassfulls per day!
I used Brita and switched to Pur filter.
