Kylie and Me

Probably the greatest gift of my life is my grand babes. They are, what I can only call, heaven sent.

This little photo essay is of and for my grand daughter Kylie, who has totally renewed my life, play, fantasy and discovery of magic in all things.

She adores her Barbies, princesses, dress up and, her Gammy. I of course, adore her and all the things that bring magic to her life and mine. And it is everywhere.

These pictures were created in photoshop and made into a little calendar for Ky called Kylie's World. The backgrounds are from my favorite illustrator, Maxfield Parrish.

Please forgive the quality of the images. My computer went down taking the originals with it. Isn't that just like magic? Now you see it, now you don't.

I saw this after all the photos - and now have a greater respect for them. How lovely, and what a great thing to do for your grandaughter. I must tell you, I know precisely how you feel, although in our house it's the grandsons. My two little buddies are my best pals and we hang out all the time. Can't wait to be out in the garden with them again this year. Wonderful times, and such a blessing! The shots were absolutely lovely, Dona!

Thank you so much Aaron. Aren't the grand babes the most wonderful gift? I have five from ages almost 2-18 (two boys and three girls). They are all so unique and such wonderful people. You know, when I am with them, I am a kid again! And, of course, I spoil (whatever that means... ;). That is my job. :)) The littlest one will be 2 on the 25. I was there at her birth, camera and all. What a generous thing that was from my son and daughter-in-love. Such memories. They are expecting again in October and I simply have to be there to welcome him/her into this world.

Hi Carolion. No, I havene't seem Miss Potter. Tell me about it. It never occurred to me to put little stories together with the illustrations. What a wonderful idea. thank you. The fact that I lost the originals was sobering. But if reproduced small they might be okay for print. So frustrating. In the 'old' days I worked with film but now it on a computer that can, at the drop of a hat, go down taking all of those images with it. Of course I am grateful to have been able to make something tangible for Kylie and have it for her memories which are so precious.
