My husband, Thom had a doctors appointment last Wednesday, so we dressed a little better than we usually do. Thom wore long pants and I wore a favorite short set. It was seersucker, blue and white strips. When I pulled on the shorts I was thrilled with the fact they were looser on me than the last time. I even noticed they hung longer on my leg.
Thom started the car to get the air conditioner running. After making one more trip to the Bathroom, I joined him in the car. Off we went to Celebration Health Center. As always Thom drops me off at the front door and parks the car. I sat in the lobby waiting for him. The building has a 3 floor opening to the ceiling and Thom was shaky about crossing the bridge on the 3rd floor so he set off to take the stairs and I was going to take the elevator.
Arriving on the 3rd floor I walked 2 or 3 different waiting rooms, looking for the surgeons office. There were about 25 people waiting at all the doctors offices. Thom still didn't show up, so I went looking for him in the Stair well. No Thom! I got to thinking he changed his mind and decided the stairs were too open for him. So I passed the 25 people and went back to the elevator, I saw him and he made in on the 3rd floor bridge.
We signed in at the nurses station. And waited for the doctor to show up. I got up a few times to get a magazine, go to the bathroom and look out the window. Finally Thom was called and I took a stroll around looking at the sights from the Health Center. Thom got his OK to return to work, so we left the Center. Passing all kinds for patiences and guests. Since it was before 5pm, Thom took his doctor's note to the Monorail office to get his hours. I waited for him in the car, then he said he had to go to Medical Services behind EPCOT, to get approval from Disney nurses to return to work.
At Medical Services I decided to go in with him, he was told he had a 45 minute wait. As long as we were there we waited. I again used the bathroom, got up and changes seats and got magazines. The office was filled with people. We went straight home and had dinner. At about 9pm, we were sitting watching TV when Thom notice something about me that was wrong.
Thom was never behind me all day, so he couldn't tell me!! All this time, all those people, all those places I went I never knew.......my shorts were ripped. From the waist to the middle. I was wearing black undies and there were there in full view. Half of central Florida saw my butt!! Thom of course thought it was funny. My shorts weren't big on me because I lost weight, they were big because of the rip!I didn't know if I should laugh or cry! I am glad I will never see those people again. I am so glad they never told me! I wish I had a moral of this story. Something wise to say. A piece of worldly knowledge. Nothing comes to mind. One thing that did come to mind.....something every Mom tells every child....Always have on clean underwear, you might end up in the Hospital!!! LOL Good thing I listened to that!
