Following The "Quote" Tradition

I am a collector of the "quote."

My friends on Gather supply my need.

Whether it is anonymous or penned by someone of note,

Whether short or long, each line I read.

 

Well, here I post one I think illustrates our time.

Though I pray such thinking is not in your mind's range.

I cannot recall who wrote this the line: 

"When the going gets tough, ideologies change."

I wish I could take credit for having written the line because I've seen the truth of this more times than I care to remember. If you must have an author's name for the quote, please use mine until we find the real author's name. Good write, Robb!

I love rhyming poems, which doesn't happen much these days. I'm guessing rhyming is just too damn difficult for 21st Century poets (sigh).

The concept of your quote is oh so true; we've all seen it, over and over. Which leads me to one of my favorite quotes that I'll be glad to add to your collection. I got this from my 2nd grade teacher, and she got it from her teacher. So, like your quote, it passes the test of time.

"No matter which way the wind doth blow, someone is glad to have it so."
