Just wanted to let you know some exciting news. I live at 47 Delaware Avenue here in beautiful Hamilton, Ontario. On April 20, filming of a television movie called "Celine" about French-Canadian singer Celine Dion will begin at 92 Delaware Avenue.
This is very exciting for two reasons. First of all, the City of Hamilton is becoming the new film capitol of the north taking over from Toronto where films have been made for many years. It will be exciting to see what happens so close to home.
Secondly, I love Celine Dion's music. I have several of her CDs and play them often. As I'm sure you already know, this once shy young girl is now a fixture in Vegas where she presents regular performances. I and other Canadians are so very proud of her.
According to the note placed in my mailbox this morning, "Celine" is "a story about the power to dream. Raised in a musical family, Celine Dion is the youngest of 14 children. The family did not have much, but they did have their music. Celine has a voice that shines above the rest.
After the family pub burned down, 12-year-old Celine began to pursue her dream to become the most famous singer in the world. With the help of her agent, Rene Angelil, she began the long had road to success."
According to her web site, Celine was born in Charlemane, just east of Montreal, Quebec. She began singing at the age of 5 with her family. When she was 12, she composed a French song that changed her life forever. Rene was so taken by her demo tape that he decided to represent her. He even mortgaged his house to pay for Celine's debut album.
In 1982, she won the Gold Medal at the Yamaha World Song Festival in Tokyo and in 1983, she became the first Canadian to receive a Gold Record in France.
She is now an international superstar performing in Las Vegas where she lives with husband, Rene and their young son. Celine has been called the premier contemporary pop vocalist of the '90s and has earned music industry accolades from the Grammy (U.S.), Juno and Felix Awards (Canada) to the World Music Awards in Europe.

I live just off the corner of Delaware and Sanford, which is between Myrtle and Gladstone. The filming will be at Delaware and Burris.
