I once lived in West Texas. While there I learned a few things I had no clue about previously. Ok, ok, I can hear you saying it now: CLUELESS! Lol
Generally speaking when it comes to mechanical things and stuff associated with them, I really am clueless. So, don't ask me where the grease stains on the driveway come from. My answer won't get anymore detailed than 'the car'. Still, I did manage to learn something about Coca Cola and cars. Yep. There's a connection.
You see, I once owned a pickup. (and no, that's not a truck – tho I kept trying to identify it as such; it was too small and without sufficient horse power to be a truck....so I have been told.)
One day I couldn't start my 'truck'. I turned the ignition, and it sputtered and did nothing. What was I to do? Well, I got the sputtering to stop. I tried the ignition numerous times, but by then the engine (or whatever is under the hood) wasn't 'turning over'. It kinda scares me to think that something 'turns over' under the hood, but I've come to understand that this is ok.
I called work, and someone drove over and we hooked cables from my 'truck' to his. We got it going, and I went to work. At the end of the day, it happened again, but this time my co-worker was in the parking lot with me. We opened the hood and he took his can of Coca Cola and poured it on the battery connections. Low and behold, my problem with starting the truck went away.
Later I also learned another benefit of having a can of Coca Cola around. If poured on grease stains on the driveway, it will remove them if left to sit overnight before washing it away.
Thinking about the value of Coca Cola, I've come to the conclusion that if Coca Cola does this to battery connections and grease stains, its kind of a scary thought what it might do to my stomach. And with that thought: have a GREAT week!
