My Dear Creatives,
Welcome to a new week and another opportunity to SHINE!
The Northeast has been deluged with storms. At points over the weekend it seemed as if our roof was going to cave in there was so much stinging rain.
That's a lot like my thought process sometimes...My mind is inundated with many different thoughts and ideas, pinging at me in a relentless fashion. One minute I am starting a poem and the next I am reading one of the many SHINE! submissions and then again my mind wanders off again to try to focus on an upcoming speaking engagement.
In a minute I will shut down this laptop and spend the rest of the day on the laptop I use for my wonderful "real" job. I’ll start working on something entirely different...but no less important to me. (Yes-I am one of those people who IS what she DOES cuz she does what she loves!)
Trying to chase down and capture the many things that gnaw and poke at us, vying for our attention really challenges creatives like us, huh? Like you, I work hard to put these thoughts together in some cohesive way.
But sometimes folks, despite my best efforts, I feel like I am trying to cram jello into an envelope...
I bet you know what exactly I mean don't ya'?
