1. Rain! Buckets and buckets of rain! Wind, too!
2. I helped my son file his taxes, and no one got stressed out once.
3. I was so inspired by an article about another writer that I can't wait to jump out of bed and get to work tomorrow morning.
(Hopefully, the buckets of rain and the wonderful, fearsome wind don't knock the power out.)

I love rain too!
Ooooh, taxes! :-p
I am looking forward to work too. It keeps me busy and people like what I do. Oh yeah... and I get a paycheck!
Renda: Wishing joy to you, too! And nourishing rain--but not so much that it spoils your picnic.
Donna: Being appreciated at work is a very good thing. Combine that with rain and a paycheck, and you've got your own list!
I spent time with my parents
I was able to share friendship and happiness with people on gather.
Thank you for sharing your three great things that happened. Life offers us so many wonderful adventures and gifts, it is truly beyond words...
Annette: NOT stressing was a first for me. I think the only reason I accomplished it was that before we started, I promised my son that no matter how frustrated or confused or mind-boggled I got, I wouldn't freak out. Sometimes it's as simple as saying what you want to be out loud.
Randy: What a great list!
Not stressing is important, isn't it?
Mine:
1. Rainy day, lots of rain - got to just stay in, which is nice.
2. Rainy dark weather = NAP! (I love naps)
3. Our two cats (pet-family) love it when we're home and with them, so they snuggled with us and played today - happy and joyful - made Mark and I laugh.
Marilyn - Hoping the rest of the week goes as well and since I'm next door in Connecticut, I hope neither one of us loses power, or at least if we do, not for long.
Marilyn: Not stressing is SO important. Wish I could pull it off on a more regular basis, but I'm learning. Nice to meet someone else who loves staying rain and naps and oh yes, cats!
We also have two (and two dogs.)
It usually makes the day go better. I repeat it several times a day too.
I can usually find some humor and a possible positive side to most things. Sometimes I have to be creative to do so! :)
We got our taxes done in February so for the first time in my married life I'm not stressing out because of this dirty deed that has to be done every April!
Hope your power stays up. I'm looking forward to reading your inspiration.
tomi: I repeated your mantra, and the day just got a little better. You're right; it IS good.
sue: Last night the wind shook the house and rattled the windows in their frames. It made me want to get up and write a ghost story.
carol and Jean: Thanks for taking the time to comment. You are both so generous.
Elizabeth P.: I usually stress as soon as I write my social security # on a tax form. But this time I announced LOUDLY that no matter what happened, the IRS wasn't going to get to me this year--except financially, of course. Heh.
Elizabeth E.: I love cheering on the runners, and wishing I was one of them. As for taxes, this was the first year I got mine done (relatively) early, too. Then just as I was congratulating myself, my 19 year old son dropped his w-2s on my desk, and said, "You think you could help me out, Mom?" Filing taxes in the 11th hour just seems to be my fate.
Nick: Wanting to see the good is the first and most important step. Thanks for the comment.
Julie: The article was about the prolific Jodi Picoult. Here's the link: http://books.guardian.co.uk/departments/generalfiction/story/0,,2055466,00.html
Lisa: I hear you. Every time I go to the grocery store, it seems like the prices have inched up a little higher--and our wages are staying the same. I hope that things get better for you soon. In the meantime, I like the smile in your photograph.
Dawn: Do you have any idea how much better I feel knowing that I'm not the only one who freaks when looking at a tax form? Thanks for all your good words. You are a light.
Karolyn: With that lovely baby, I'm sure that countless good things fill your days. Thanks
for sharing mine.
d.m.: Ever since I started working at home, I've been staying up later and later--but I'm trying to change. Last week I made a resolution to get up at 5:30 a.m.--and I even did it.
Once. This week I'm going to try for something more reasonable. 7 maybe?
Peter: We did our taxes with a CPA, too. Since this year I'm a self-employed writer (!), it was too complex to do them ourselves. But at this point, my son doesn't make enough money to cover a CPA. That's where good old mom comes in.
We ended up with snow! My yard is full of it and it's all slushy and smothering my poor daffs and tulips!!
I wish you the most creative writing time tomorrow, and hope that it is flows like the rain you welcomed today!
Thanks for making me think of 3 things.
1. Rain last night.
2. I closed all the windows.
3. The dog only peed on the carpet once.
And a fourth: brilliant sunshine.
Just be glad.
Forget all bad moments of your life,
And go ahead.
Night brings morning.
Autumn brings spring.
Fortune makes peon.
Fortune makes the king.
Never loose the chance
Before you deny, just try at once.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Talk less, work more with patience,
Time and tide wait for none.
Do your job like the moon and the sun.
Enjoy the work you do,
And do the best you can.
Better late then never,
It's the thing, which you should remember.
Do well, have well,
And this is all what I want to tell.
Aaron: Fortunately, the daffs and tulips are hardy--and will spring back. (kind of like us writers?)
donna: Nothing would surprise me.
Kathryn: I love rain so that one is easy. But taxes? That took a little work.
Laurun: I have to start this up again tonight.
M.M.: I love your list--especially #3. That's definitely seeing the glass half full!
rajendra: Your poem reflects a wonderful spirit. Thanks for sharing it here!
sumner: I could take that literally or metaphorically. Either way it's true.
serina: It takes work for all of us. Hope you come back tomorrow and tell me the good things you found.
U
Thanks, Willow!
Quinn: Cool photo!
Blessings always...
