3 Things that made me happy today: 

 

1. My friend's birthday cake, layered with raspberries and ricotta, and topped with flickering candles.

2. My friend, smiling while we sang to her, our ragged cheerful song echoing and expanding.

3. Coming home to to a  house filled with family and animals.

I don't think I have every had that combination on a cake but I love raspberries on cheesecake and it is good with white chocolate too along with the raspberries

Bonnie: It was a surprise party, which made it even more fun.

donna: Wish your daughter a happy birthday for me!

Anne: I'd never had it before either, but it was wonderful. Kind of a combination of cake and cannoli.

Sounds like you had a pleasant time. I was trying to think of 3 things I was happy about today. 1) My daughter and her family got to take a weekend trip out of town; she has been wanting to go to Leavenworth, WA for several months. 2) I got 2 of my work shifts out of the way for this week. 3) My flowers are starting to bloom.

Thanks, Julie. I just started the gratitude journal, but I can already feel the benefits. It makes you search for the good, instead of hoarding up the days little insults and injuries. I'm not surprised you keep one!

Laurun: I always loved Pollyanna and the glad game. Maybe we can find one of those ricotta cakes for next week...I think it was from a bakery near P's house.
