Making Money Online

HI miz Leanne - love to know some specifics on how you're making money - sounds interesting - I'm only on Gather but love to know what's available. Salud.

You said "I know I will never be rich doing it" and you will always get what you believe. There are many, many people out there making a living online and not just a living but a great living. Don't sell yourself short. Instead of saying "I will never be rich doing it" say to yourself, with feeling and firm confidence that you believe it, "I am in the process of making a substantial living off my writings on the internet!" and you will. The internet is just one of my income streams and I am making it by writing, google adwords, and other commission sales products.

I do surveys, postings (like Gather.com), clickings (not nearly as much as I did a few years ago), and so on. I am like you. I don't really aim for any big money. I just want to have fun and a little cash along the way.

I agree about AC, I do like to write for them but I hate when they declined my articles... I mean, I know how to write, are they that bad of pieces? But I have made a decent amount from them,and now they are published so I am racking up page views at the moment and getting the bonus.

I make a $1000 or $4500 on each sale on the Internet, you can make a fortune, there is no free lunch, just like anything else you have to do the work. I also have to add my voice on the Associated Content thing. I don't write for them as much as I used to, but I get the ongoing bonus money, publish my non-column reivews there non exclusive and made about $600 from them in the second half of last year.

I have tried Associated Content and haven't got one published yet. I did have some on Tridond, but they only pay pennies per view, at least as far as I can see.

I am new at this too, but am starting to be able to wheat from the chafe. I am always looking for new oppourtunities.

Another option is affiliate marketing, where web publishers serve as commissioned sales people for online merchants. I just starting a Gather group for this, if you're interested, at Affiliate Central.

In the meantime, I wanted to let Racheline know that, from what I understand, $600 for six months on Associated Content is a great return. Sounds like a great way to "self syndicate" the content you've already written and been paid for. Is there any particular reason you think you articles there might be, comparatively, doing so well?

I do surveys, click ads, and Gather. I am signed up with AC and Helium, but so far, I haven't written anything for them. I hope to get into it more, when things slow down at work.

I do netwinner and gather. I never attempted to sell anything to AC even though I had promised myself that I would. I am also signed up for helium, just trying to build up the courage to write that first article.

I write for Associated Content and rather like it (though it is a gamble whether the article will be picked up or not) - my page is http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/24510/barb_webb.html I have learned over time what works and what doesn't, so you'll find a variety of articles on my page which will hopefully help spark some ideas for you.

I also mystery shop, do oodles of surveys which add up quite nicely!, Ebay, swap with friends, am a coupon queen, participate in point programs (like MyPoints), participate in writing contests (of the free variety!) and I write for several online publications. As a writer, I try to max opps on the Internet as they often pay in realtime verses waiting months for print royalties (I do write for print too.

Gather is also lovely too, I enjoy the gift cards, but I participate more for the idea exchange and friendship factor.

I avoid things like pay per click emails, etc. as they are time drainers with very little payoff. When you do the calculations, you are making very little per hour- though, they work for some, so don't take that the wrong way.

It seems a saturated market in some areas. I would love to find some good places to make money online to help with household income.

I've been doing surveys, writing articles on different sites, paid per click, and also doing some internet consulting on the side. I try to make the most out of staying at home but in this economy it's hard to stay afloat on one income. Right now I'm trying out affiliate marketing-- hopefully it will bring in more money than the current $200+ i'm getting thus far.

I use many websites and blogs to make money online. Biggest source of income is Google Adsense, also like ebay, Associated content and others.

I make money by helping other people save money.

1. I refer people to Ebates Cashback. They save money with online coupons and get cashback savings for their online shopping. I get $5 when a new member I referred makes their first cashback purchase.

2. I also refer people to the cashback program Mr Rebates. It works the same as Ebates (above), except Mr Rebates pays me a very small percentage of the cashback that the new member receives. So I may only make like .25 cents, but it all adds up.

3. I give away 15% off coupons to Diapers.com and Soap.com . Just use coupon code: Coupon4u to save 15% on your FIRST order. They pay me $10 in store credits for every new customer I refer. This helps me get FREE DIAPERS every month for my newborn baby.

4. I use Swagbucks to earn Amazon giftcards and Paypal cash.

I like using these programs to make money because I feel good about the fact that I'm actually helping other people save money. I'm hoping to eventually get to the point that my referral money I earn from these 4 programs can not only get us free diapers every month, but also provide enough extra income to max out our IRA contributions of $10,000 per year. That means I would need to be making at least $833 per month.
