March of Dimes ~ Walk with me!

Hi everyone!

I will be walking for the March of Dimes in Virginia Beach on 4/29/2007 to raise money for premature babies.  I am personally walking for a dear friend.  We were pregnant at the same time both due in December 2005....only her baby was born in October.  I am happy to report that baby girl is a beautiful and happy child today and I am blessed to know them as friends.  But I am also walking for another friend who last year was pregnant with twins.  Unfortunately that story does not have a happy ending.  The beautiful twin angels were born and graced their mama's life for one hour before they both passed.....and I want to do this in memory of the little girls who could only stay for a short while.

 

If you are unable to contribute....I do accept hugs, well wishes, and prayers for success in this endeavor.

I support you all the way...48 years ago I was born...a 4 1/2 pound baby in a time when someone of my size shouldn't have survived...

I was a success story but my brother and sis in law lost twins that were born too soon...I held my nephew in the palm of my hand he was so small....perfect in everyway but too small to survive.....

I support the MOD everyyear but this year I will support it in your name,.....God Bless you for supporting such a wonderful cause!

As the mom of a 35 week baby, I support you. I was one of the lucky mommies whose baby was healthy, but I am forever grateful for the NICU team that came to the delivery room for me and my son.

This sounds like just the type of thing you would get involved in, and I'm proud of you, young lady. Gots no money, but I do have hugs, well wishes, and a little flat plastic thingy that might still have a dollar or two in it before it hits it's limit. No promises, but we'll see.

I put a special message in for all the words of encouragement! I am going to redouble my efforts. I have some ideas so wish me luck. One thing I am going to try is the pringle can at school and at work. I am hoping some spare change can help some more. So all my wishers keep wishing hard. I believe you are an integral part of this team!!

My nephew did his best to be born on my birthday... 2 months before his due date! Luckily he's a thriving, growning 21/2 yrs old now... wearing my sister out as she tries to keep up with him...☺

That is beautiful. I plan to go out there and wear myself out for babies like your nephew....and the babies who never got the chance to do so. Also for babies that have beautiful smiles that maybe we cannot see due to a birth defect. Or maybe for the babies who's hearts are so big that their little bodies cannot sustain it. Or the baby who wants to walk but maybe cannot due to a birth defect! I simply cannot wait.

Good for you! Although how you find time for this and Nursing school I can't begin to imagine. I just remember carrying home 25lbs. books home every day to study up for the next day's classes, and then spendiong hours looking up info for my patients when we did our Clinical days... mind you when I was in Nursing School they'd compressed a three year course down to two!

I have a 17 year old cousin. He was a twin. His brother died at the age of 5 days. They were premature. Thank you for doing this ma Bellota.

Kathleen....I don't even know.....and I am afraid to ask. But actually...I have the weekend off this week after which it will be 6 weeks no break.....so I am focusing my efforts to get the word out this weekend. Thank GOD I don't have to carry my books on the walk!!!

i am proud or crazy....I am nor sure which....to report that I have changed my goal to $1000. When I started I did nto think we could get $100. But there are forces much more powerful than me and that is a testimony. In the end it isn't so much reaching the numbered goal but being able to do what we can together for these babies.

Thank you so much everyone --- We have til April 29. so if you cannot today we still have about 2 weeks left.

What a wonderful thing you did for future mothers and your friend. I gave birth to two premature babies and by the grace of God, they both came through with no defects. The additional attention they need to help with development is difficult, but I wouldn't change a thing. God bless you for what you are doing.
