do actions really speak
louder than words?
when a person decides
to make controversial
remarks in a public forum
with no regards to the people
listening or the person(s) being
discussed i often wonder what
their mentality is behind closed
doors. is the person that we see
before us the real deal or are
they portraying a character,
catering to the likes of their
current audience?
it bothers me that people can
be so quick to judge but im even
more irked when people
make excuses for others based
on past experiences. is it really
so hard to believe that uncle
"whatshisname" is a racist because
he donates to charities and
always bought you the best gifts
during the holidays?
what defines a persons character?
what they say or what they do?
which are you most impressed with?

Actions.
Since we cannot look into a person's mind to understand their intention we are left to judge their words and deeds.
My belief is that if you can count races then you aren't a very good friend. Good point, Shannon.
When my first marriage went south, one of my best friends, who is black, and his wife, who is white, offered me respite from the hell that was home, many nights. Both of their mixed children called me uncle, and I spent many nights at their house watching videos and eating with them.
Luckily for me, I was raised to judge everyone equally based on how they treat others, etc. not on the basis of race or background.
