THE PEOPLES' VILLAGE PLAN IN OPERATION PART 4 2/12/07
Upon arriving in the SUV at the village entrance, Dave and Helen rushed to clean up so they would be ready when called for dinner. At the wash trailer, Dave and Helen split up with one to the men's and the other to the women's trailer. People had not started to get ready for the diner shift so they had a lot of space to clean up. Dave first washed the grim from his hands and face, doffed his soiled uniform and shoes, and than grabbed a towel and his toilet kit to take a shower. Everything in this trailer was stainless steel or aluminum so as to keep things sanitary and easy to clean. The men's showers were in separate enclosures and Dave found plenty of warm water for his shower. Stepping from the showers, he grabbed his towel and dried off. He than put on a fresh uniform and village use shoes, and shaved. He used an electric razor so didn't shave in the shower like the men that liked to use a plain razor and soap. When he finished shaving, he left the trailer and proceeded to the men's toilet trailer where he relieved himself, washed and dried his hands, and went to meet his wife in the relaxation building where they could relax until the diner was called.
The relaxation building was set up for a comfortable area for everyone to enjoy a few moments just reading, listening to good music and television on earphones. The chairs were made for comfortable seating but were quick folding for storage as all the equipment in the building. I should not be calling this a building because this was a large air shelter, that was fully ventilated and air conditioned. It could be erected in just a short time and was large enough for many people to use; this construction will be explained in detail later in this story, so now we will just say it is a large inflatable structure.
Soon, Dave was joined by Helen and they located a two seat lounge where they could listen to MP3 players for sign out by the residents. Dave chose a jazz number on his, and Helen piano. They then just relaxed and listed to the music until the dinner call came.
Dinner was more or less a constant thing with each resident set up with their eating time by groups that the dining area could hold. The kitchen was a portable trailer large enough to feed the groups, with an attached preparation and storage trailer to keep the entire food safe from spoilage and in good eating condition. More on this later, except to say that these trailers were mostly stainless and all conformed to the food services codes for safe preparation and cooking. The service was cafeteria style near the entrance to the dinning shelter. This area was one designed as mobile trailers to seat all the people in each group called. They also were stainless and aluminum for maximum ease of cleaning and sanitation of equipment. Seats were permanently mounted to the tables with no floor contact to make cleaning easier. More on the design later.
The loud speaker soon broadcasted the group number that Dave and Helen were in and they joined the others in their group headed for the dinning trailer.
Stay turned in and see what Dave an Helen get to eat, and how they are treated in this portable village. Keep in mind the word portable, because everything is designed to be taken down, stored, and used again, when the need arises. Also, it is made to be easy transportable by road so it can be located anywhere it is needed. One city can loan or rent their village to another in trouble when they don't need it, so as to recover some of the cost of the village.
Thank you all for commenting briefly so I can see who is reading my story. These comments tell me that we need to invite many more people to spread the word. All people are invited that may have some interest. Remember it is not the story but what I am trying convey that counts.
