Sunrise follows,
warming back already bent
birds squawk, awakened,
by the sounds of early risers.
Noon warmth
embraces weariness,
soothes the ache
of heart, and sinew.
Sun sets, day done,
cool chill of twilight
stings still working hands.
Home.
Distant dream,
eyes rest
focused on
heroes unsung.
