As we continue on with our lives here on earth, prices continue to rise. And our salaries rarely do. Yet, because the dairy farms are "barely making ends meet" or "operating in the red," we pay the price.
Oil prices go higher and gas prices soar, especially as summer gets closer (go figure!).
And due to the frost after Spring has begun, we may not have as much produce and therefore, have to pay more for what little we'll get.
Why, even this month, in my suburb town, our water/sewer bill is increasing by 24%! Already, my average water bill runs $70/month. That will increase it to close to $90, a $20 jump.
This usually starts a snowball effect... utilities will probably rise, along with phone. Fees will be added, fuel surcharges will increase, etc., etc.
And yet, we still have to figure out how to make a living with what our employees pay us.
My daughter is to start school this fall, hubby is still taking classes, and our 4th baby is due in July.
If I get an outside job, then we have child care costs which take away from my additional income. And I can't seem to find a legitimate "work at home" opportunity that is not either a scam, or costs an arm and a leg to get started.
So we will plug on, hoping for a break someday, somewhere.
Anyone else feeling overwhelmed at times?

Have you tried being a consultant for something like Tupperware, Gourmet to Go, Creative Memories, Etc? Of course its its not massive income but the few dollars here or there really can help sometimes.
I wish I could give you some encouraging words but I don't have any at this present moment.
We are thinking about starting an e-bay business selling used books. It takes hours and hours at the computer, but at least I can be home with my son and be the one to raise him.
Good luck to you and your family, I hope you find something that works.
I have a friend who got me started with MonaVie. I haven't sold yet, but I haven't really tried either. The product is really awesome!
Deb, the points helped a bit, although that really wasn't my intent in publishing this article. I was only venting.
Yes, Don, it is easier to blame Clinton. When Bush is out, we'll all be blaming him, oh, some of us already do! Who's next in office to blame?...
Janet, I try some of the things you mentioned. As for volunteering for fixing meals or something along those lines, I am very limited to that as all my children are 5 and under (and counting).
We figured it out once, and by the time you took out child care, eating out, clothing, and all the other expences we had while I worked, I cleared $50 a week!
A person can make more than that sitting home filling out surveys and sending for freebies.
