damn did i laugh to tears when i found out what he said about those girls! i COULD NOT believe it! why do people think they can get away with saying things like that? i hate dumbness....

Lori, he's in deep doodoo now and since major sponsors such as Proctor & Gamble and Staples are pulling out from not only his show, but the networks that air him, it may make so called comdedians think about their brand of humor in a more responsible way, understatedly.

I don't know, Christina. I fell asleep for part of it and he was only on for a half hour since they had the Anna Nicole paternity issue on for the first half hour.

What do any of you know of Imus? If you do not even know what he looks like it is also probable that you have never seen or heard his show. I have watched and enjoyed his edgy humor for many years. I have followed this man through his public addiction recovery which he openly talks about giving hope to people who are addicted and those in recovery. For all his "bravado" part of the act...he also does much that is good. My daughter and son in law are both marines and I was so pleased with Imus when he spent months at the start of the Iraq war using his show as a forum to take all the congressmen and women out on the death benefits for soldiers...at the start of the Iraq war the death benefit was $12,000 and after he advocated for months with people on his show like Sen McCain, JSen Lieberman, Sen Dodd, Gov Richardson, Sen Byden and the list goes on ...the death benefit now is 250,000 and allows for buy in to get it to 500,000. He has a ranch for kids with cancer...he has raised millions for ...NONE of this makes what he said right or okay but before you judge the man you should at least know him...By the way the reason he was on Larry King was that they have been friends for 30 years and originally he was appearing for his wife who recently published a book on green cleaning to avoid harmful chemicals in our environment. I worry deeply about the witch hunts we go on in our society today...I do however believe the conversation this has created is a good thing.

Who said that they didn't know what he looked like? I do not disagree with you. Perhaps my true feelings will be evident to you if you read my most recent article. Thanks for pointing out all the good he does. Yes, he made a mistake and as I believe it was Dani who quoted in the other thread, "he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."

debj, youve listed some very admirable things about imus, i know him a little better and i still dont appreciate his remarks. kinda makes you wonder what he says behind close doors if can make remarks like that in public.

All I know of Imus is his racist remark made on a radio show. That's all I NEED to know.
