"Five for Fighting" is best known for writing deeply personal songs that include a social message. His newest single called "World" is a call-to-action that asks everyone listening... "What kind of world do you want?"
Now, Ondrasik is taking his message inside the political arena. Literally. He recently sat down with former Arkansas Governor and current presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for an unusually revealing and interesting interview.

Baloney about how much we "should" be spending on "defence."
Nonsense from the Gov, softball questions.
I am a Christian Conservative Republican. I live in Connecticut and am a member of the Republican Town Committee (District Leader).
I have an email list of approximately 1,500 people; most of whom are Christians and Conservative. I communicate with most of these people on a daily basis through emails.
As much as I have come to learn about you I could support you on just about every issue except one; your position on Israel. Of course the first question usually asked; "are you (me) anti-Israel or anti-semitic"; no, but I am pro-USA. I believe that many if not most of Bush's advisors are neocons (passionately pro-Israel), and therefore have dual loyalties. I have no problem with their unwavering support of Israel, I just don't want them in a position of undue influence and authority whereas there would be a conflict of interest.
I think that the war in Iraq was wrong; it hurt the president, hurt the Republican Party, hurt the conservative movement, and hurt America; and it might hurt us (Republicans) in the upcoming elections as well.
I know as a Christian, that many believe the Israel of the New Testament is today's State of Israel; I believe that the body of Christ is the New Testament Israel.
I wish that I could support you, but this is a critical issue, the only way that we can mediate in the Middle East is if we're unbiased, and we haven't been, and from what I hear from your campaign you will continue that bias that alienates us and causes mistrust from the multitude of people in that area of the Middle East.
If I am misunderstanding your position, please let me know; I am tired of having to vote "the lesser of the evils."
Thank you for your time,
