THE PEOPLES' VILLAGE PLAN IN OPERATION

PART ONE 4/9/07

It is sometime in the future and Dave, is standing outside and looking at his home. It is a sad sight because a hurricane has just passed over and left it and most of the other buildings damaged and unlivable. I am sure there are tears in his eyes and a feeling of panic as he sees what is left even though he is thankful no one of the family was injured.

A truck pulls up in front of his home, or at least what was a home, and a man comes over and says. "I am Jack Anderson, the supervisor of this blocks recovery.  I guess you are Dave Johnson, the home owner I am to meet. Are you alone or did your bring your wife"?

            "She's inside seeing how she can best store all the small items that are still in good enough shape to save. She understands that anything that is damp or weather affected may have to be destroyed or stored in a special container so it does not affect the dried things in the main storage area?"

            "Yes, but do you think that it will really work and looters just won't take everything we have that they want?"

            "I know your concern, but look at the group already setting up next to your house. These are the clean out people what will work with you to remove and place all your useable and valuable items inside closed storage right here on your property.  You will be provided the lock and key so no one else can enter without your presence. Also, don't for get that all your things will be cleaned and dried before storage so they will not be damaged by any dampness during storage".

            "George. Can you come over here and meet the owner of this house that you will soon be working with", shouted the rescue man.

            George hurries over and joins the two. He says," My crew is ready as soon as you are. By the way, I didn't get your name?"

            "It is Dave Johnson, and I am real happy to meet you. Where do you want to start first?" 

            We have ten survivors like your self that will be removing all the things from the interior or the house and another crew just waiting to clean them up and pack things for storage.  We start will all your valuables and things that need fast cleaning and attention, such as electrical appliances, televisions, and similar easy to move items. Your house was inspected and labeled for destruction, so we will be saving everything useful for rebuilding your new home"

            "Sure looks like a large crew you have, but I understand that is part of the new plan.  Plenty of people make the work less hard, faster, and even fun.
