Hmmmmmmm for me right now with the high gas prices I would put it towards that. However; if a Caribou or Starbucks was nearby I'd get myself a mocha and asked if you would want one also.:)
First I would say "no thanks, you strange person, you" and then i'd ask "um, just out of curiosity why $8 instead of say $5 or some other amount?". Then you would insist on giving me the money anyway, and I'd walk away shaking my head and most likely pass it on to someone else who looks like they could use it more than I can.
I never look a gift horse in the mouth. While others may question or ask why there isn't more, I would put that generous $8...$8 more than I started the day out with...into my grocery fund. On that $8, I could pretty much feed myself three meals each over the course of the next three days.
jamie, thanks for your honest answer. i was speaking along the lines that you knew me from gather. and i picked $8 because of it being an odd amount. im glad you would pass it on to someone who could use it.

i dont either, rob. it took me a long time to learn to NOT argue with people when they would give me something, ANYTHING out of the kindness of their heart (especially my mom and grandmother). these days, this 36yr old will say, "thank you or thanks for thinking of me!" quicker than the cocky 20 something that i used to be. im like you as i would probably stick the money in our change jar and use it for random trips to the corner store. it would probably last me and kids about a week.
oh so now ya want it, jody? hmmm? i already gave them away. how about a chuck e cheese token and a coupon for 60 cents off a pair of l'eggs man hosiery?

I guess the first thing I would do is say thanks, maybe ask why you're giving me the money. Then I'd probably turn it over as a small donation to my favorite charity.
Hahaha to Shannon's last comment. I am like Shannon. I would buy cigarettes with it and thank you again and again. Those things keep going up in price. Here is a little video to ponder over.

I think I would buy a package of CD-Rs. as I'm almost out of them, and maybe a bottle of that funky Lakewood mangosteen juice I noticed at the health food store on clearance. Isn't it amazing how much easier it is to spend money than to earn it?! Thanks for posting this nifty little puzzle!
$8 huh? Wonder how you came up with that number? Well I would go down to my favorite restaurant for lunch and order escargot and some Bass Ale. That way I'd only have to pay another $5 or $6 for a special lunch.
being that i accidentally left my wallet in a shopping cart last week and eventhough someone returned it (minus my 65.00) eight dollars is looking pretty good right now.thankfully all my credentials were there. walking around with 1.00 is sad. bank of america where is my new atm card. hurry!!!!
