I know, I know Spring is here but I couldn't resist two last photos of Winter. As always, the members of Your Favorite Pics who post their pics may (with their written permission) get a photo make-over. The "after" photo is theirs to re-post to their homepage and to other groups. Click on the images if you want to enlarge for more detail. If I have time, I'll post the 'before and after' collage to the group's images as well. I welcome feedback and suggestions how to improve this "before and after" concept.
I love vintage photos and this first "makeover" by Jennifer P. has it all; people, landscape, snow, even a dog. The two smiling people are her grandparents looking happy even after shoveling all that snow! I wanted the crisp whiteness of the snow to pop so I got rid of the yellowish tint and added a pale blue tint to the sky. The image was slightly sharpened, straightened and cropped.

Next up, is Di Extreme Spitfire's shot of her and her son with their cool "conehead snowman.

In this "after' I cropped extraneous background out to focus on the people and the snowman. It's brightened and sharpened to show off the sparkly snow and happy faces.
Okay, enough of winter. Here's a gorgeous shot of Spring. I love lilacs and I couldn't resist Dani D's.
She posted a bunch of stunning flower ma
cros so d
o check them out.
The photo on the left is the the original shot. I chose to transform it into more of a macro. It's been radically cropped, rotated, brightened and sharpened. The colors are little more saturated and I added a tinted sky. Please note in the "before and after " collage both images are different from the individual 'before' and 'after'.
Last but not least, who can resist a little monkey business? This is the "before" shot of a squirrel monkey by De. M. I admire anyone who can shoot wildlife. Animal photography is extremely difficult and for the very patient. De. M said this monkey would not keep still so this was a good capture. All I did was crop the image a bit, sharpen and brighten to bring out this critter's sweet face.
The "before" is on the left and the "after" is on the right. The cropped "before and after" collage is below.

That's it for this week. Thanks and keep posting. If if have any special requests please contact me privately.

Very interesting work. I really like the way you breathe life into these images. The snowman and the monkey were my favorites. What does that say about me? :)
Jennifer, so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed doing it.
Are you taking pride in the automated process of Picassa ??? Surely you aren't suggest "you" did this are you ???
Perhaps if you had manually tweaked these photos YOURSELF, rather than just inputting them to some online software from google, you might have something to crow about.
As it is, this plays more like a mere promotional ad for Picassa.
Hell, I just wanted to find out why you seemingly felt so "proud" of your "efforts" when in reality, Picassa did it for you.
That's all.
