I live on a farm, so that is why there are Amazon links, but I plan on spending more time at Borders. They're a great store. It's just that the public I have a hard time with sometimes. I like the privacy of not having to go, because it's just not the same as it was before. There should be no problem with it, so I go, but I can't get myself to spend too much time in stores. I like the upper floor at Borders because there is more privacy (72nd Street, Omaha), and the fiction section on the first floor, but I tend to avoid contact with people. TV and commercialism really has us in a loop. But my overall opinion of these stores is that they are great, and I support them as well.

I read Francine Prose's book a few weeks ago and loved it. BTW, I noticed in the Wall Street Journal recently that Borders plans to start its own Internet mail-order book business (separate from Amazon). This is a wonderful list, Ian. Thank you.

Great news that Borders is doing that. I live on a farm. Amazon is great for clothes and software. Beats browsing when you're buying them online, but I'm also a coffee drinker. I'll be sure to highlight Francine's.

I'd recommend Janet Burroway's I think. Even though it's an expensive textbook, you'd probably get more use out of it. Be sure to get it at Borders.

Went to Omaha today, picked up Francine Prose's right away with Ayn Rand's Fountainhead and Michael Cunningham's Home at the End of the World. Also chose to get Writing Down the Bones, which is published by Shambhala. Looking forward to finishing all of them soon. It makes me want to write reviews.

I have two of Shawn Lee's Records......
When I hunt for vinyl I like picking up stuff I have never heard of, then I take it home, listen, and love it.

And even more cool is hearing that someone else has heard of it too.

Another book I just purchased from Borders is called Description by Monica Wood. The outline in it seemed very good, so I cannot wait to read all of it.

I started reading Chinese Astrology: Plain and Simple, and the author has a great introduction. I'm very interested in studying it.
