Good morning, and Happy Easter to all. On this Easter Sunday, I am sitting here pondering the many blessings in my life, and I thought I would share my latest blessing with all my Gather pals.
Trent Eric David L. was born on 02/27/07 at 4;54 PM, by C-section. He weighed in at eight pounds, eight ounces of adorableness. This picture was the "hospital picture", taken the morning after his birth.
He is now six weeks old, and already gaining a personality all his own. He gets cranky easily, as he is wearing a cast from toe to hip on his wee little left leg as he was born with a clubbed foot, as he was "packed too tightly in the womb" (quote from the Pediatrician). My daughter has to take him weekly to the Orthopedist to have the cast changed. This will go on for eight weeks, then decide whether he can graduate to a brace, or face surgery to cut and stretch his tiny achilles tendon. If he has to have surgery, it will be postponed till he is a year old. We are hoping the casting and brace will suffice.
He is a tough little guy, though. He is smiling more and more, and I think some of them are not gas induced. He lifts that little casted leg like it is nothing, so he is a strong little fella.
I couldn't be prouder of both my daughter and her husband. they have given me a gift of unfathomable grace. Seeing them with Trent is the sweetest thing. They are truly in love with him, as am I, and Grandpa Bill.

God Love ya! Thats the best thing I've heard in a week1
Happy Easter!
I couldn't agree more.
Yes, he is certainly a trooper.
Wilma,
My daughter said the photographer was incredible, playing with him till he got an "eyes wide open" shot. I have to admit, they were worth the outrageous price they charge for a "package".
Magi,
I agree. Thank you.
Yes, its terrific. I can't wait till he is old enough to get him all sugared up, and send his little butt home to the folks..(evil laughter hahahaha)
We have similar styles of writing and now I think we are "kindred spirits". My son "Michael was born on 2/27/74! He a tall strong man now who has been a delight to "Parent" everyday of his life. They used to call him "smiles" when he was little. He has always been qiuet and made excellent grades all the way though school. He was "National Honor Society" through High School and 3.8 in college. He could of gotten a schlorship to go to college, a couple of them. He had worked as a "caddie" at a private Golf course since he had been 12 at the time. He felt that the expense would be to great on us since their was another brother already in school. So this great kid got a job at "Ford Motor Company" and work 6 days sometimes 10 hours. And went to school at night. He has bought his own home and all of the toys truck, Classic car, a car just to drive to work and a motorcycle. He takes trips to places he said he would go when he was a child. He's still not married yet but I think he is going to make someone a great caring and sensitive husband. I pray that your daughter and son-in-law are just as "Lucky" with their child born on the same date. He will be a "Joy' to raise!
I was so busy telling you how he went to school I forgot to tell you what he does. He is a engineer at "Fords" they had no trouble giving him the job. He was already working their when he graduated. My only concern now is the trouble that "Fords" is in. But I think even though he would have to move he could fine a job.
He sounds like an outstanding young man, so maybe sharing the same birthday with my little Trent is a good omen. Heck, if I were 20 years younger and didn't have my precious Bill, I'd ask for his phone number myself...ha ha
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!
Thanks. He sure is precious. He is having surgery on the 21st to cut and stretch his achilles tendon....keep him in you prayers.
