The innocence of Children...

Do you ever have those moments where you just can't believe that kids are so innocent. My niece called me today, she is 4 and she wanted to know if when I was a kid I collected Strawberry Shortcake Dolls...When I said yes, she squeals, "ME TOO !!"

Next, it was care bears and the same "ME TOO !!"

We went through about 4 or 5 more things she likes including milk and cookies....and she finally said, "WOW, dad is right, you did act just like me..." Now, mind you when I got on the phone with her mother, she had just gotten in trouble with her father (my brother) because her toys were all over...yet, she was excited that she was just like me....LOL...She missed his meaning, but I didn't !!

I love these times....just clean and innocent family fun...what about you??

Yes! I remember my wife asking me why I was putting off telling our son the "facts of life" and at first I didn't know why myself. Then it came to me... I knew that the "age of innocence" would be over, and he would never look at girls - or life - the same. But, of course, I did tell him, and he - as most boys have throughout time - acted nonchalant. He's turned into a fine young adult, married and very active in his church and community, but I still miss the Sam of eleven and innocence.

Yeah, sometimes there is just nothing like the beauty and innocence of our children and grandchildren! What would the world ever be like without them!?

Thanks for sharing that, Karen! My grandson, who is also 4, sung a song a song to me from Happy Feet the other day. (I've never seen the movie, but it was something about, MmmmmMMmmm, she's my girlfriend. He was so excited by the movie and so enthusiastic in his singing. I've been thinking, like you, ever since that kids are so innocent and they get so excited about such small things. Wouldn't it be great if we could all catch a little of that!
