Fred, The longing wins here, doesn't it?Yet the poet has his savoury moment too... we get to see what the lover thought is being pulled away from him! What a masterful stroke! I can almost see the expression in the eyes of the person who in torment turns away from his keyboard to fill his senses with words not spoken.
Oh dear Minnie. You see so much. Are you psychic or something? I'm so over joyed that you see so much in what I've written here and elsewhere. Is it always true that longing wins? Why should that be? It's a timeless question, isn't it?
Fred, You do have a way with making friends feel so.. so... special!! I might or might not be psychic;) , it's your writing that has the magic to transport us to the inner world you hide behind that charming smile. Longing wins only as long as we let it, or so says Minnie , the Gather Psychic :O! Why does it win?? Because it feeds on something, some empty part of our soul, making it feel 'whole' if the subject of longing is viewed as achievable. Makes any sense? I suppose we poets would not be half the persons we are without the pangs of longing.
Minnie...you are now the Official Gather Psychic. Yes I have an inner world...and the gift given to me is that I'm in touch with it. As for the rest. Who ever knows whether the one loved is even aware of one's longing. And for the whole comment...that I shall copy and print. So deep is my thanks.
Aha A Psychic is my Pal. Wow. He bows towards the West and says "yea I shall write and I shall be friend to many." Today I have achieved so much. I've reached a new height. Thank you Pal.
I'm picturing you... hands hovering, feet tapping, waiting for your love and yes, if you want it enough, it happens! I'm making this a feature (I think right next to minnies!) on Poets, New and Old. www.poetsnewandold.gather.com rated 10, with thanks for posting it there, Marilyn (shhh, I'm psychic too! lol)
Dear pyshic Marilyn...with the ability to vividly see images. What a great honour you bestow on me. I'm going to treasure itand put it in my CV. Great news for me. Thank you dear.
Hi Amy. I'm so sorry about you feeling yucky. Yes I was barefoot in the sand. I did beckon and yes those eyes are mystical.
As competitive as I may be in business, I nevertheless show my emotions once the meetings end. As Martin Luther said "Here I stand I cannot be different."
Let this poem make you smile and help you feel better. We need you here.
