Not necessarily in this order.
1. Meeting people from all over the world. I live in a small town, 15 miles from the town where I was born. I've never traveled to Europe or Asia, Australia or Hawaii. I have crossed the U. S. from California to South Carolina. Other than that, I'm pretty much a non-traveler.
2. Finding great books to read. Listening to others talk about the books they're reading keeps my pocketbook empty, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
3. Links to places of interest. One of my favorite things to do is to visit author Web sites and sites that deal with books and writing.
4. Discovering I'm not alone in receiving "not for us" form letters from editors. Misery loves company, the old cliche says. It must be true.
5. Hearing good news and successes of authors, knowing how hard they've (you've) worked for it.
6. Tips on which editors/agents are accepting submissions and what they are looking for.
7. The ups and downs of this crazy career called "writing."
I'm sure I'll think of more later, but these are some reasons I like to blog. I'm never too old to learn about the business. How about you? Why do you blog?
