My personal altar. The Buddha is carved from a stone that soaks up water. No idea where it was made. The photo is of Thich Nhat Hahn and the Dalai Lama.
Buddha images are interpreted many ways. 
Last one. Three Buddhas (yep that's a Lava Lamp). Porcelain, Brass and Yak Bone.
Living room Buddha. Found at a tiny junk shop outside Petosi, MO. No idea where it came from but it is a beautiful work of art.
