A CAMPAIGN to pressure, shame and force the British and Russian governments into bringing the killers of former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko to justice was launched yesterday.
Mr Litvinenko's widow launched the Litvinenko Justice Foundation in central London.
Mr Litvinenko, 43, died in a London hospital last November, weeks after being poisoned with radioactive polonium-210.
Mrs Litvinenko said: "It is really difficult to say how I feel. You could ask anyone how they would feel when you lose someone in this way.
The foundation is also seeking to help others exposed to polonium-210 to claim compensation, state benefits and legal redress.
Louise Christian, Mrs Litvinenko's lawyer, is calling for a face-to-face meeting with the Crown Prosecution Service about the case. Ms Christian alleged that Mr Litvinenko's death was an "arbitrary execution carried out by state agents of an international state". She suggested that perhaps there should be a "independent inquiry, jointly set up" by the British and Russian governments to find the killers.
