Hello to all,
On our annual backpacking vacation to Colorado in August of 2004 we visited the Buddhist Stupa at Red Feather Lakes. The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya was initiated in 1988 and was consecrated in 2001. Go to the Shamballa Mountain Center for the history of this amazing structure tucked into the incredible beauty of the Colorado Rockies. The stupa is situated a mile from the parking lot and meditation center and must be walked to (the disabled are able to reach it by vehicle). It is the perfect time for walking meditation.
Thich Nhat Hahn, Buddhist monk and teacher believes that walking meditation is a way to connect with all things.

Tread softly as you walk, move slowly, be in the moment, watch your breath, let the world enter through pictures:
Deer flank the Wheel of Life in Buddhist iconography. This is the deer feeding house.
Cross the solid bridge between self and non-self. Soft breeze flutters prayer flags sending prayers skyward.
Grove of Aspen trees whisper the eternal truth of compassion.

Giant prayer flags wave along the path to the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya.

Not your computer. I was going back to make the links work.
Thanks for the kind words. It was a defining moment.

Great question. After.

Thich Nhat Hahn is a true Bodhisattva. His book "The Heart of Buddha's Teaching" helped form my thinking of the Buddha's teachings.
