A New Painting Completed: Squares & Squiggles

This afternoon I completed work on my latest painting. It measures 20" x 24" and is on a deep canvas, with the image wrapped over the edges, so no frame is necessary. The price is $64.00, with shipping extra.  I'm interested in your comments, this is a departure from my usual style.

What medium is this? I think it's looks great! I also think you're pricing it too low consider the size and amount of effort you put into it. I'm very sure you will sell it.

Oh, I just saw that it is in acrylic. That's what I paint in, too.

Nice Jimmy. How do you make these? Do you have a studio to work in? I used to love to paint. One more thing besides writing that I had let go for far too many years!

Very interesting work. Having no information on why you crafted this painting, I am unsure I can comment or even formulate an opinion with so little information. I do however, really like your use of color. I am interested in your painting process and the grid layout. I hope you can tell me more.

Very interesting and pretty. I like the way each square has it's own unique pattern. I don't know much about art but this is very nice and it is obvious you put a lot into the design.

Intriguing! I love the way each block has a design and the placement of the blocks makes an additional design. I can see this as a table top done in ceramic tile, or fabric for a festive garment. How long does something like that take you?

I like it! I will give you $3 for it. Just kidding you know like garage sale haggling. People will try to get you to lower the price to pennies. I am usually not into geometric shapes or anything contemporary/modern. See, I don't even know what genre or category this is in. It grows on me more and more each time I look at it.

I like it! This is just my opinion, of course, but I think it would look great in a child's room, a pediatrician's office, or a classroom. I say this because of the beautiful colors that you used, and the simple pattern. It's easy to look at, and invites you to form your own opinion.

very contemporary. Kind of reminds me of a mosiac or even a brick road. This would also make a good rug. I've been looking on-line for rugs lately that's why it came to mind. Very cool.

I am happy to say it sold (here on Gather) shortly after I posted this article! I will be publishing an article to address the questions posed here as soon as I have time to thoughtfully write it. I anticipate it being titled "Details on the Creation of 'Squares & Squiggles'"...hopefully I will post in before tomorrow morning. :D
