Meet A New Gather Member - My Daughter Maree

My daughter, Maree from Minnesota, has been in Arkansas visiting the last two weeks. While here, she's seen me Gather day after day and finally asked "What's Gather all about?" After explaining and showing her the ropes, she's decided to give us a try. Maree is darn good using the computer, even though she has a few disabilites.  She's looking for fun, friendly and understanding people.  

I'm republishing a poem I wrote for her awhile back:

Second Blessing

Maree is my second blessing, my middle child in a circle of three

Maree is the child who Doctors proclaimed challenged at birth

Maree is seizures, pills, medical appointments and special education teachers

Maree is smiles in accomplishments, tears when life is hard, and a defender of all she loves

Maree is forever trusting of humankind and a lover of God's animal kingdom

Maree is happy but independent in an unsympathetic world

Maree is a light which shines to young and old, proclaiming the presence of God.

Maree is my teacher, the child who taught me compassion, independence, courage and hope.

Maree is my miracle of love.

Foremost, Maree is a Child of God.
