declined and rejected

I was rejected but it was a personal vendetta. While I'm new at this also, I think if the group is intended for a subject or format, and you try to publish something that doesn't fit, your piece will be rejected. NOT because it's bad but because it doesn't fit in that group. Obviously, you wouldn't post an anti-war rant to the recipe groups.... Get it?

Don't worry about it. They don't reject it based on the quality. It's just that some groups have specific requirements for the subjects that they will allow and probably your article didn't include those requirements. There are a lot of general type groups where you can post ANYTHING.

I think we all get rejected from time to time. Group owners have that right! Don't worry about it, just keep posting, rating and commenting. :D

I don't believe it has anything to do with how you wrote it but that it just doesn't fit the content of the group. I wouldn't take it too personally.

Don't worry about it! It's happened to all of us! Some groups are for certain content related items ONLY! If the article doesn't fit the criteris, it's rejected!

don't stress....just be a bit more careful about who you post articles to...for example don't publish recipes to poetry groups...some owners get a bit testy and protective of their groups and don't allow ANY off topic posts and some are more lax. Most of mine are lax except for CODE AMBER ALERT that only allows amber alerts or articles about lost or missing children....take a deep breath and keep trying and if a group really starts to bug you....delete membership from it. Life is too short to stress over a rejection....welcome to gather and I hope you have a good time onsite!

Hang in there. This happened to me a couple of days ago and I think it just wasn't for them. But then again it doesn't really matter if you are posting it for everyone. I think it's more about your connections than the number of groups you post to, once you get more people in your network you will start getting more replys and more points.

I am new as well and I have had rejects but I don't take it personally. I am not sure about posting so I post where I think it should go and some times I am wrong. We just keep pushing on. I am not at 90 yet myself but I keep trying.

I was rejected at first because I just wasn't sure about posting. Just check the content of the group before you post. If it doesn't belong, they will reject it. No Big Deal.

So is it best to belong to groups that are not moderated?
what if I post to a group that the title just does not tell me what the group is about on my list? example: Emotions is a group on my list....what is that about?

I get my articles rejected once in awhile, mainly because the subject I'm writing on doesn't really fit the focus of the group. No harm, no foul.

You've gotten some real good advice from all that went before me. But just hang in there ...you'll learn and it'll all be okay.

Rejection only makes me more determined.

yep...rejection sometimes makes me better and write better articles anyway.

Hi there... no worries about being rejected. The only reason you should have been removed is because you were posting something that was off-topic for the group. Just make sure you read the posting guidelines for the group before you post, and you should be set! "Post anything" groups are really the way to go and if you need help finding groups, you can go to my group list and see which ones I have joined (only because I have a LOT of them) or I can help you do some searches. Just let me know and welcome to Gather!

No it is not bad, I admire the groups that keep their group with only the articles that are relevant to the group. It is so neat to go search for something in these groups and not have to sift through irrelivent articles.

Since I own a few groups I will tell you why I reject materials.

If you are a group member of one of my groups and I reject your article for the most part I will leave an article stating why at that time it was rejected. But normally it stems from not following the groups guidelines of what is acceptable of the group.

Now in regards to your question have any of us been rejected.. Heck yes... For just being dumb and posting things in the wrong group, to it was stated as rejected but it was more removed since the owner wanted to clean out the groups material...

Hi Tracey, I've been rejected and I have rejected some articles. I try to be very specific in my description of the group and if someone posts an article that has nothing to do with the topic and if the description doesn't say something like "Post whatever you want," I reject or remove the article. I do this because it helps people who want to read on a specific topic not have to wade through a bunch of articles that are just "fluff." There are plenty of "fluff" groups so I don't feel bad about doing such a thing. Well, okay, I feel bad, but it's a matter of priorities, I guess. It's good to belong to as many groups as you can if you are intetested in various topics. If you are here for a specific reason, like I've seen several people who use it more as a chat group rather than to come here to read informative articles, then, you would probably want to belong to specific groups so YOU don't have to wade through a bunch of stuff you don't want to read. If your interests are varied and you are interested in anything and everything, belonging to as many groups as possible is great and you can always just be selective about where you post your stuff. It's stiff available to everyone if they want to find it, anyway.

Never feel bad about being rejected, though. It's rarely personal and it just makes you more like everyone else here.
