Run, don't walk to the bookstore or Amazon.com
This well written eloquent story is about the fragile relationship fathers and sons, people and their gods, men and their countries. This tale is one of the most lyrical, moving and unexpected books I have ever read.
The Kite Runner follows a young boy, Amir, as he faces the challenges that confront him on the path to manhood. His description of Afghanistan in the 1960s really brings the story to life. The ever-changing politics of Afghanistan affect each of the characters in the novel deeply. It's like taking a walk in a place passed on. This novel gives the reader much needed insight into Afghanistan during this time.
This story tells of a friendship, regrets and lessons life teaches you. The strong underlying force of this novel is the relationship between Amir and Hassan.
The friendship of Amir and Hassan is a complex tapestry of love, loss, privilege, and shame.
The story goes much deeper, also focusing on Amir's relationship with his father.
Amir often feels like an outsider in his father's life.
Khaled Hosseini was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1965. The son of a diplomat, his family received political asylum in the United States in 1980. He currently lives in California where he is a physician. The Kite Runner is his first novel.
It is hard to write a review on this book, without giving away too much of the story.
I read this book a month ago. The story is not yet out of my head. Its a book that stays with you for a long time.

She is usually a great source for good books, but....
I really believed her when we went to a bookstore & it was sold out.
While browsing I heard two people asking about it.
That is when I knew I had to read it.
It's a great read & best to avoid detailed reviews. (As not to spoil it)
If anyone reads it or has read it, post away.
If you're interested, you could also post this article to the group "Hey You Should Read This".
Has anyone read it yet?
I will never doubt you again.
If you say its a good book
ITS A GOOD BOOK.
I am now willing to bet on it.
Keep posting and writing these reviews.
I will add this one to my list.
It was even better the second read.
I look forward to reading it as I did not like the story that the film tells at all... as you know when you read my review HOLLYWOOD POV: "The Kite Runner"
