Hello to all,
Have you taken an Urban Hike yet? Your own town, city, burg, village, metropolis, cluster of buildings has a multitude of places to explore, take pictures of and post on Urban Hike the World Group.
On the edge of St. Louis there is really big ditch filled with muddy brown water. Someone got the brilliant idea to put a River Walk along it. However, the resulting paved walkway tends to wander far from the water into the more industrial areas flanking the Mighty Mississippi. It's chock full of amazing sights most people living in St. Louis never see. For those walkers/hikers that don't like to get their expensive boots dirty, it is the perfect trail. Check it out.
Namaste, Wayne
World's Biggest Paint Roller - Really just a silo with insulation foam sprayed all over the outside. Whose idea was that?

Gold, we found Gold! - Naw, just rusted wire fencing. Darn!
We made it to the Saltinental Divide! - Huge mounds of road salt.

Follow the Path - Onward and Upward.
Off in the far distance we can see civilization. Can we make it?

I find adventure in the wildest of places (check out some of my Colorado stuff) and in urban areas.
Hello Wilma,
Thanks. Never go anywhere without your camera.
Namaste to all, Wayne
I've walked on the 3 mile boardwalk circling Coney Island to Manhattan Beach. You get to see the waves of the Atlantic Ocean lapping on the shore and the beautiful beach...
I've explored Prospect Park and Fort Greene Park located in Brooklyn and traversed Central Park in Manhattan many times. I've walked the Museum Mile and down Fifth Avenue passing Tiffiny's, Rockefeller Center with its gigantic Christmas tree and Ice Skating rink in the winter.
I walk on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn passing thru a Pakastani neighborhood with women walking around with veils on their faces and men dressed in their white outfits. I approach Avenue J and meet orthodox women bewigged and pushing their baby carraiges out doing their Passover shopping.
There's Boro Park with a large Jewish Chassidic community where men walk with their streimels (fur hats) on the sabbath and holidays and their women walking around adorned in modest clothing. There is wonderful shopping on 13th avenue. I could go on and on! Come to New York, it's a wonderful town!
