Gathering Points- Some Tips

Take a moment to sift through your most recent articles on your gather.com/my.jsp listed TO you (by other people), and see what other people are saying & doing. Leave some comments, and rate the articles. It'll help YOU be noticed, and help both your points and theirs. :)
Hit the Article's page, and read 5 articles whose titles catch your eye. Vote, comment, and make a new connection with the author if you are not already connected. Do this once a day to add up for more points!
Comment on posts, and reply to comments on your own posts!
Make more connections, and comment on at least 2 articles or images for each new contact. They'll notice you, and be more likely to do the same.
Click "Articles" and leave some random drive by 10's with a comment. If you don't know what to say, just do a DB10 comment! Do 10 of these, wait 20-30 minutes, and see if your points raise!
Create a group, and invite all your connections to it.

Great list and very helpful! I try to read several articles everytime I am on here from people I am not connected to. I also go group searching and try to add more groups!

Good list, Heather. When someone is kind enough to comment on an article, I do try to do the same...visit their page and comment on one of their articles. I've found some very interesting articles that way.

BTW, I've only got 16 points to get my $25 Home Depot gift card. I have one already, so with this one, I'm hoping I can by the paint needed for my long over-due porch.

Silly me, I try to read everything from all of my connections every day and to tell the truth, I can't keep up. Just trying to keep us with William alone is impossible. LOL

I HAVE A QUESTION... does the ratings really mean anything as far as points, or how your publication comes up in a search? or is it just something nice to do to see how many people like your stuff?

I take time to read articles, then go through my people then groups at least once a week or twice I have over 300 friends now as a result of doing it this way. I have six more requests. I sometimes do go and remove people who do nothing or have done nothing to contribute in comments or writing articles to read. But it does raise your points more it is fun to read things and make new friends.

Don't forget to post the same thread after it hits one hundred or so comments...do this three times a day in addition to ten or fifteen "articles" that include idiot jokes from your email and at least an equal number of freebies and viola! I estimtimate this will get you about 500 or so points every day, if not more.
