Six Weird Things About Me

My six weird things...

1.  I have two phobias -  anime and spontanious human combustion.

2.  Growing up, I had a pet monkey.

3. I once bought an antique book at a yard sale for my collection, and took it home to discover that inside was a silver and pearl stick pin, the braided hair of three dead girls, a tax recipt from 1850, and an old one cent stamp.

4. I only watch TV on rare occasion - mostly doccumentaries, animal shows, and the occasional episode of South Park.

5. When I was a teenager, I was the lead singer in a local band called The Orange Marmalade Gorillas.

6. For nearly two decades,  I have suffered from post-traumatic stress syndrome.

What an interesting find in the book, My mom had a pet monkey for awhile right after I got married, named Bobo. She was a funny little thing. What kind of music did you sing?

I love buying old books, too. But, the best thing I ever found was a note written by someone that wasn't about anything special. It was cool to see the handwriting though. I love old books, though, because it always makes me think of someone elses hands touching the same pages I've touched, only 50 to 100 years earlier! It's such a cool feeling.

I went to a yard sale and found an old autograph book. i thought that was pretty cool .
6. For nearly two decades, I have suffered from post-traumatic stress syndrome. Wow- I had no idea that it took that long to get over PTS. I guess maybe it depends a lot on what caused the stress and all . Have you sought counseling for this issue? so many people are not aware still that counseling is available and /or think all counselors are kooks .

Been through counseling , but I do better on my own. I've got it to the point where it isn't so bad most of the time , and I take an anxiety med to help. Certain things trigger it though - like, for example loud sudden noises really scare me, and I even start shaking from it sometimes.

I can understand the 2nd phobia in one, yes that is a real fear for us all.

Spontaneous combustion.. interesting, rare phobia. Do you think this is a symptom of the stress syndrome? Every entry was fascinating. The book was a great find!

I laughed at your phobias, and I didn't really mean it. I think it was just the way I read them together. As if your sentence implied that watching an animation of human combustion was your phobia. Nonetheless, very fun list. I enjoyed reading it!

Can we post 6 weird things about ourselves? I hope so, if so here are mine.
1. I can talk with my mouth closed
2. I once stitched my skin with thread on purpose.
3. I google everyone
4. I love milk and soda mixed
5. I have one grey hair that always grows out the side of my face no matter what.
6. I can listen to the same song repeatedly for days

Very interesting list, one of my favorites so far... that book thing was really cool. I have found things in old books too, but never so many in one, or such interesting stuff.
I don't have a phobia about spontaneous human combustion but with my thyroid disorder sometimes certainly think I'm going to... Get this horrible internal heat. No sweat - body is hot to the touch (so says boyfriend, seems normal to me)... But I think you could put my butt in the middle of a 40 acre snowfield and I could melt the whole thing in 10 seconds flat...
Don't want to give away too many weird things about me... haven't been tagged yet. And if I do I'll need something held back! LOL

Great list. What a wonderful name for a band. We have the same TV viewing habits except I add in really bad Sci Fi / Monster Movies. Continued success on fighting your PTSD.

That's pretty weird. Why are you afraid of anime?

This is the first I have heard of the 6 weird things series. It sounds pretty interesting. Anyone know where I can read more of them.

Since most are following each other around, I would suggest clicking on membes names and searching through their recent articles. I have been told the search/tag feature is not working currently, and my own experiences seem to back the claim. It was started a couple of weeks back (I think?) and was done as sort of a game of 'tag'. You get tagged, write your 6, and tag 6 more. If you click through my name, I have started compiling a list, almost an index of sorts. It has everyone who I know have been tagged, and a few others have added their names as well. You will find it among my articles. I warn you though, some of my articles are graphic in nature so unless your very open, or curious -watch the titles and stay away from anything with S101 in the title. I hope this helps.

So sorry to know about the PTSSD; there IS hope, so please don't give up on finding something to help.

And I'm so glad to have read your list in time, as I had been thinking of sending you one of those birthday-grams of an Anime Self-Combusting Neanderthal doing the Funky Monkey. That was close!!

#4 ... what do you do, hide? while your hubby has the TV on for background noise when he is playing video games with his feet???

I don't want to say weird but definitely unusual things about you. I admit I enjoy southpark and did when it came out before it "caught on" I don't watch it very often but it tickles my funny bone.
