6 oddities about me

i was tagged by deb - DARSP - pleasants...

1. it's all about the star wars. if we're not watching the movies, we're playing lego star wars (lillie always has to be leia). if it isn't a game or tv, we're playing imagination star wars - yes, i am usually anakin and lillie is padme. it's been almost 3 weeks now that i can't call her lillie....she LOVES star wars.

2. i swear i was a dolphin in a past life. i am a human dowsing rod. any time there's water, i am there. i dream of water, swimming or sitting by it. we live on a lake. if i don't get outside to be by the water every singe day (even frozen, in winter), i feel like i am incomplete.

3. we live on a lake and don't fish. well, not for real fish. yesterday, we fished for weeds, at the edge of the lake where the ice has melted a bit.  i used to fish, growing up. you catch 'em, you clean 'em. a few years ago, i was fishing to calm myself and accidentally caught a HUGE fish. i could't let him go, the hook was too deeply embedded into his gills and he would have drowned. so we tried to kill that darn fish, it took forever. i haven't fished for real since. people can't believe we live on a lake and don't fish.

4.  i hardly go anywhere without my camera. i feel naked without it. when i am driving down a road, or sitting somewhere, i am always looking around, seeing what sort of photographic opportunities there are.  lillie has her own camera and is always taking photos, too. nature or nurture? ;)

5.  i always feel better when i am in nature - whether it is a park in the city, or living in a rural area. i don't know if this is because i grew up on a farm or what. i've lived in london and tokyo, travelled the world - and still am able to find spots of green (and hopefully that lake!)....

6.  i LOVE whitewater rafting!!! it is such a thrill. for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding, 2 friends of theirs that are whitewater rafting guides gave them a day of themselves and their rafts. we all went down this stretch of the deschutes river, in bend, OR, several times. it was one of the best times of my life. i can't WAIT to go again!!
