1. Argentina.....I want to learn the tango. See the pampas. Meet a cowboy. Listen to the spanish that sounds so different there. I like it.
2. I want to go back to Peru. I loved it there. I know nothing ever stays the same but I wonder if the feeling is still there.
3. 4. and 5. Italy, Scotland, and Hungary
I want to meet my paisanos. I want to know if I look like anybody or have any mannerisms. I want to know how much of me is me. And how much came from there.
6. Mexico......It is a huge country. I wish I could see it all
7. Canada.....Yasher is there! Besides I have never met a Canadian I did not love.
8. Japan....my daughter wants to go there. She is learning to speak Japanese. She is a talented artist and I wish I could take her to learn more. I wish (and this is a huge crazy wish) I could meet the man who directed 'My Neighbor Totoro' and tell him how his movies have impacted our lives. (my daughters and me)
9. Africa......A huge contintent. I would like start with South Africa and have my friend Fantine show me around. I had a dear friend Abdul and he told me about Morocco. My dear, dear friend Gbenga is in Nigeria.....I don't so much want to see Lagos....as I would like to see where his family is from.....so many countries I would like to see.
10. India. I could talk forever as to why I would like to go there. I always feel like there is something there waiting for me.

However, my ultimate vacation would consist of island-hopping with a 45-foot schooner to destinations where the sun is warm, the drinks are cold and I don't know the names of the players...
I lived in Scotland, Japan, and Africa. I would go back to any of them at any time to visit, but if I ever return to Scotland, I am not sure I would leave again.
We are lucky in the UK in that we have cheap and easy travel to mainland Europe and further afield, too.

just like you...
Your article puts life into Gather!
Thank you so much for the poem my Jennifer!!!
I liked your list. India was 10 on your list - I guess you have to get ready by visiting all other places before your sense of sight/sound/taste/smell get completely assaulted. I am wondering why China did not make the list - my guess is a visit to the local Wal-Mart already did the trick? LOL :-))
One day I will be in India, I know it. I have dreamt about it. China could still make my list as well as Thailand and Sri Lanka.
I think I would like to go to the South India. Maybe Madras or Hyderabad. I have some pearls from Hyderabad.......and a lovely story....not sure how I want to write it yet. But India is so large....I just want to see all I can.
Jody....if you go to Spain....I can translate badly.
One of them is....I will give you the reader's digest version. I was explaining an issue to my my friends Srini and Jag (nicknames of course) and I noticed Jag is shaking his head no. And he keeps shaking his head no. Finally, I say wait, wait just a moment. What is wrong with what I am saying? YOu are telling me yes but your head shakes no!!! Then I learned that nods of the head were opposite in Indaia. WOW did I ever feel like I could really make world peace happen....all I had to do was explain it to everybody!!! hee.
Incidentally......I had a teacher from Bulgaria and she would be doing the same thing....and I discovered it is the opposite in Bulgaria as well. (World Peace I tells ya!)
Wishing You Laughter on your road
I like your list otherwise!
