Thanks to everyone who has joined Your Favorite Pics and posted their photos. All members have the opportunity to have free photo 'makeovers'. I'll be selecting several photos (or more if there's time) every week. The "after" photos are posted only to the group but the photo's owner is free to remove it, repost elsewhere and keep.
The first three are images of widely different subject matter and style. I haven't figured out how to show the "before" and "after" photos side by side on the group's site yet. Anyone know how? Except for Dan's pics, are currently scattered within the images file.
First up is a photo by one of Gather's favorite photographers, Dan Tompkins. His work enjoys the top #1 spot just about every day. There wasn't much to do his mallard pic except crop to enhance the composition, brighten and sharpen it. Which image do you prefer?
Next up is wonderful slice of life from India by Ravendra Singh. I was unable to sharpen the pic to my satisfaction so I chose to focus on the central figure and enhance the colors. It's slightly cropped and the background figures muted in a wash of color that brings the photo to life.
The last photo today is a poignant vintage photo of Jennifer P's family from the sixties? I sharpened and cropped it to bring out more detail. The faded colors were enhanced but still are in keeping with the vintage feel.
Please check them out and discuss amongst yourselves. You may or may not agree with what I've done but that's the beauty of creative expression.
If you have a photo you might want for a "make-over" please join. If you want to post photos and not have a makeover that's okay too.
Enjoy!
