When I first joined Gather I was given two comments for this. I treasured each one of those points as part of my first ten Gather points. A milestone that I had set on day one.
Now I've revised it and am posting it again.
O barren banks of the Saraswati
Those dry shores that once spawned life
Where sacred water lavished glory
On ancient cities now forgot
There I found you Moonstone
You who taught me ancient truths
O gem filled with veils and mists
And colours that had tales to tell
You showed cupped darkly in my hands
You just lay there dull and sombre
Trapped in my grasp your heart went cold
Your singing voice had lost its chord
Then when I held you high above
To feel the glow of the morning sun
I saw your veils of blue and green
As they danced and swayed in pure delight
But in the moonlight you found your soul
Your veils enchanted and seduced
While coyly you did hide your face
I knew your kiss was near at hand
Moonstone great and ancient teacher
You showed me how to set you free
You whispered to me give you light
For then you'd dance into my heart

I rever Saraswati for the mystic powers she holds over the arts and knowledge. The river Saraswati that went underground at the curse of a saint has captured the imagination of so many theologists, history hunters and people like us.
Lovely poem on letting your muse fly free and unencumbered. That is the way it will come back to you, tenfold! Let it flow, let it shine in moonlight and kiss your heart and work with sucess!
Very well expressed.
Yes, I was away from the net addiction for some time. Going away again tomorrow:)
Did you know that two of the ancient cities have been found off the coast of Gujarat below the ocean. Assumed more than 10 000 years old!!!
Thank you for grasping the meaning of the poem but then of course you would.
We know that.
Please Minnie don't stay away too long. I think we all, but especially me, are very stimulated by your comments.
You have quickly become part of those that matter around here.
As for your flowing praise, what should I say, dear Fred? I am not so good, or so knowledgeable about things to make informed comments . I know what touches my heart and I always say so.
Ill be back soon, don't ya worry:) Gather is extreeemely addictive!!
Thank you Laurie. There are parts of the world that are filled with mystery and the deeper that you go into it the deeper goes the mystery.
Now you come back real soon hey.
Hi Wendy. Thanks for the praise and the visit.
