The challenge: Compile a list of 2,008 reasons to elect a progressive President in 2008
The catch: If I don't finish the list by January 1st, 2008, I have pledged to write a check for $2,008.00 to the campaign of each Republican candidate for President. I'm a political progressive, so I really, really, really don't want to do that.
As of today, I have 152 reasons compiled. That leaves 1,856 reasons to go.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone care to contribute a reason to vote progressive in 2008?

I didn't say Democrat. I said progressive. I meant what I said.
Lessee reasons to vote as a progressive....(I still say liberal):
social justice
repealing the no child's behind left in public school
fair funding of education
helping the student loan issues
putting teeth & protection back into bankruptcy for individuals--just like it is for companies
NATIONAL HEALTH CARE
Raising Social Security Ceiling from $90K to maybe $180K to make the system more solvent and not upping the taxes on the lower end of the employment system
GET OUT OF IRAQ
Quit treating corporations as individuals and start treating corporations as businesses and taxing them as such.
Helping giving DC citizens representation in congress
reproductive choice
stem cell research
fixing VA hospitals(another place that the repugs have failed miserably--keep talking about how neocons support the troops--right into that black moldy room, right?)
OK---that's what I can come up with off the top of my head.
