I admit it.
I'm confused.
Gore has said we have 10 years before we doom ourselves. I'm not sure if that's 10 years from today or 10 years from the day he said it, in which case it was probably 20 years ago.
Now he says we have to enact sweeping changes by 2050, which is more than 10 years away - rougly 42 1/4, if my math serves me correct.
I also wonder if the enviros haven't planned this all along. You see, in the 1970s they wanted catalytic converters put on cars. They turn exhause essentially into carbon dioxide.
It was hailed as a milestone and planet saver. Now the enviros are saying those same gases are dooming us.
Sure, I'm all for not building new coal plants; instead lets pop up nuclear power plants and have real energy indpendence that's not dependented on supplies and fluctuation
s in prices.
Then Al Gore can burn as much energy as he wants for his compoud. Interestingly, Al Gore uses about 15 times what the average family uses. And in a classical liberal move of "what's good for you isn't necessarily good for me" Mr. Gore refused to sign a personal energy ethics pledge, which simply states:
- that human-caused global warming is a moral, ethical, and spiritual issue affecting our survival;
- that home energy use is a key component of overall energy use;
- that reducing my fossil fuel-based home energy usage will lead to lower greenhouse gas emissions; and
- that leaders on moral issues should lead by example;

I think it's kinda weird that you want to know, but that's just me. :)
But while I'm dreaming my mind races with questions like: what does Al Gore use so much electricity? Why didn't he sign the energy ethics pledge?
